Cheerleader (Felix Jaehn Remix) by OMI Interpretation
Today, I am going to use genius.com again to share to you the interpretation of one of my favorite songs: Cheerleader (Felix Jaehn Remix). Some people say that the song is anti-feminist. I say it depends on your interpretation of the song. The way I see it, the song is portraying a perfect relationship between two people.
Verse 1
When I need motivation
My one solution is my queen
Cause she' stay strong (yeah yeah)
She is always in my corner
Right there when I want her
All these other girls are tempting
But I'm empty when you're gone
And they say
This sets the tone of his partner always being on his side
Pre-Chorus
Do you need me?
Do you think I'm pretty?
Do I make you feel like cheating?
And I'm like no, not really cause
The guy shows that he is loyal to his girl
Chorus
Oh I think that I found myself a cheerleader
She is always right there when I need her
Oh I think that I found myself a cheerleader
She is always right there when I need her
The way I see it, he describes his partner as not only always on his side, she is also like a cheerleader - the epitome of anyone's supporter
She walks like a model
She grants my wishes like a genie in a bottle (yeah yeah)
Cause I'm the wizard of love
And I got the magic wand
All these other girls are tempting
But I'm empty when you're gone
And they say
He feels contented with his partner. He also thinks that he's the "wizard of love" which means that he thinks that he is expert in the field of love. Here he shows his loyalty again to his girl.
Verse 3
She gives me love and affection
Baby did I mention, you're the only girl for me
No I don't need a next one
Mama loves you too, she thinks I made the right selection
Now all that's left to do
Is just for me to pop the question
He loves his girl so much that he plans to marry her.
