Cheap Thrills by Sia Interpretation

Today, I would like to interpret the song "Cheap Thrills" by Sia.

[Verse 1]
Come on, come on, turn the radio on
It's Friday night and I won't be long
Gotta do my hair, I put my make up on
It's Friday night and I won't be long

Sia talks about the benefit of turning the radio on. It simply entertains her. She also discusses about doing her hair and putting her make up on.

[Pre-Chorus]
Til I hit the dance floor
Hit the dance floor
I got all I need
No I ain't got cash
No I ain't got cash
But I got you baby

Sia says that dancing is all she needs. Also, even though she doesn't have any money, she got his guy.

[Chorus]
Baby I don't need dollar bills to have fun tonight
(I love cheap thrills)
Baby I don't need dollar bills to have fun tonight
(I love cheap thrills)
But I don't need no money
As long as I can feel the beat

I don't need no money
As long as I keep dancing

Sia reiterates that dancing is all that she needs, which is in a sense, very practical (According to genius.com, which I trust very much, "cheap thrill" means temporary fun. So, although dancing
is all she needs; probably, the benefit she gets from it is temporary).

[Verse 2]
Come on, come on, turn the radio on
It's Saturday and I won't be long
Gotta paint my nails, put my high heels on
It's Saturday and I won't be long

This verse is very much similar to the first verse. So, just refer to that again, please.

Thank you for reading!
